Ashley Boettcher Read

Ashley Boettcher-Read picked up her first paint brush at the tender age of ten and has been painting ever since. She studied under local children’s illustrator Denise Griffin from 2003-2005. Ashley has enjoyed using media such as acrylic on canvas, watercolor, guache, oil pencil, and pastels as well as painting murals in her homes over the years. Her favorite subject is landscape and seascape; with a touch of surreal skies. From storm to sunsets, she uses a variety of colors to showcase the beauty of nature.
In 2005, she sold a number of works in a private exhibit meant to raise funds to publish her first novel “The Book Of Dreams: The Life Story Of a Teenage Girl” at just 17 years old. In 2009, Ashley went on to publish the first in a series of seven novels entitled “Threshold”. She also received acknowledgement in fine art judging critiques locally and regionally through teen talent international.
For a time, Ashley took a break from pursuing her talents to raise a family and now in her 30s, has again begun working out of her home studio.
