Ashraf get his inspiration from the great, ancient Nubian civilization which once dominated the Nile Valley and the surrounding African Sahara – Sudan, South Sudan and Egypt – with its fascinating legends of queens, kings, and architectural buildings and motifs. The rich folklore stories and myths of the Nilotic tribes are another present subject in his work. Because this rich heritage only known to a few, Ashraf decided to show it to the world through his art.
