Mara G. Szyp

Location: Canada

In my life, I had to pack up and move and reinvent myself but there was always a voice in the back of my head that would whisper “keep seeking” Then life changed right in front of my eyes, and that voice sang “You are home”
I paint to free myself of the chains around me, my body and my mind.
When I am birthing a new art piece, it expresses who I was while morphing into who I will become.
I create art because it gives me a purpose.
In my portraits I see through their eyes, in my nudes I feel through their skins, in my abstracts I scream and dance and grow as their limitless shapes move and unfold, just as my life as an artist, bright and constantly evolving.
I thank God for giving me the strength to get to be here and to be able to answer my calling. I Thank God for another (and another) chance to live my life.
And above all, I thank my wonderful partner without whom I wouldn’t have been able to throw myself head on into this exciting and rewarding new path to create art.

Organized Chaos

Organized Chaos “Organized Chaos”

With a snow and cold weather warning also comes the possibility of loosing power where I live. If there’s wind, there will be a power outage. If there’s rain, power outages. If perhaps nothing else happens .. also power outages. So today I pretended there was no power.
I opened the window curtains and I painted. I didn’t elaborate on themes or combinations because I was really not seeing that well. I just let it be. And this clash came be. I am considering some changes but I might leave it as it is. What do you think? What does it make you feel? Can you making the best out of the inevitable chaos?

Keller “Keller”

From the words of a friend who felt a connection to Keller “Heated passion let go by almost forbidden desires. That sometimes get over looked.
You have the fires from below that rise up. Looming cloud on the left. Dissipation transferring through. I think it a beautiful expression

Paintings are always intriguing because depend on someone’s mood, you can see more than one thing.

It not only matters, how the artist sees or does the piece. But the perception of the viewer will always change. That’s what I see. Someone else might see something different. Perception for beauty is not only heart, but mind as well”

Colours of Autumn “Colours of Autumn”

“Colours of Autumn” 16x16x1.5 inches

Jade and gold “Jade and gold ”

The artist feels a lot through her paintings
The melted effect of emerald and gold, marquise details, like a jewel-like on a canvas
this piece is exactly that.
You do not need to wait for him to gift you a ring
There's shine, gold and Jade right on this art piece.

Impact: Underwater “Impact: Underwater”

We don't ever see the shapes and forms.
We try to make sense of things
Impact: Underwater is challenging exactly that.
The movement on the water, what we see or we think we see under it.
The foam. The change of direction.
An abstract piece that defy concept.
