Heungman was born in China and brought up in Hong Kong. He earned a BA degree in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University. He went on to study photography and received a BFA with honor from the Art Center College of Design in California. He has been working as a photographer in New York for over 15 years. His work has been published in Rolling Stone, Times, Spin, Paper and New York Magazine, amongst others.
Heungman is currently dividing his time between New York and Shanghai. His main focus is on personal projects and art exhibitions.
