Marian Stamos

I paint because I must. I choose to paint quiet peace and beauty in praise of an awesome God. My painting subjects vary widely and include still life, landscapes and figurative. I am often drawn to the simple life themes of my youth growing up in West Central Illinois...and yet equally energized by the colorful excitement of the city.
My painting style can best be described as "painterly realism." Oils are my medium due to their flexibility, rich color and buttery texture.
I am a member of the Northwest Area Arts Council, the Barrington Cultural Arts Center and the Arlington Heights Arts Guild.
My paintings can be found at the Ice House Mall Gallery in Barrington IL as well as various menus throughout the northwest Chicago suburbs.

Three's Company

I found these sunflowers in a Marengo IL field planted by a husband in honor of his departed wife who loved these happy flowers.
