Benjamin Junta (www.benjunta.com) has been studying and creating art in various parts of the United States, while maintaining a homebase in California. He works with a variety of media - oils and acrylics, spray paint, stencils, collage, found objects, tree bark, clothing, street detritus, photographs, digital media, and written words.

Ben's artistic study began with Squeek Carnwath at the University of California, Davis. He then moved on to Occidental College (Los Angeles, CA), where he took a BA.

His early efforts were landscapes largely influenced by Mark Rothko and Richard Diebenkorn, and then by his study with the noted American painters Wolf Kahn (in the Hans Hoffman tradition of "push-pull"), Bernard Chaet, and the teachings of Charles Hawthorne as studied at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provinctown, MA. Mr. Junta also studied with the British painter John Walker, as well as with American still life painter William Bailey. Mr Junta has exhibited on the East Coast, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Los Angeles, CA, Santa Barbara, CA, as well as at Stanford University and other locations in Northern California.

He currently lives in Hermosa Beach, CA.
