I love to work with prisma colored pencils because the finished work comes out really nice, just like a painting, but the pencils give you much more control over what is happening on the paper or canvas. I have also worked with oils and acrylics, but still prefer the colored pencils. My work hung in a small gallery in Durango, CO for a while, but once I moved it stopped and I never pursued placing pictures with the gallery again.

Portfolio:

Daydreams

The fairies in this portfolio are all representing different emotions and attitudes, not just sitting and looking into space like so many fairy pictures portray. The pictures are all done in prisma colored pencil and sprayed to protect the surface from yellowing over time. Each picture is original and both dated and signed.

Fearing Evil “Fearing Evil”

The two faces are done to compare the looks of evil and dread. the image of the fairy in the front of the picture portrays her loathing of the evil that stands behind her, portrayed by the face of the second image and the background.

Lazy Days “Lazy Days”

This fairy is enjoying waking up from a nap in the grass. She is in her natural environment and enjoying every minute of it.... tall grass and flowers bending around her, she rests her head on a rock.

Peeking through the blades “Peeking through the blades”

This happy, young fairy is busy peeking through the tall leaves of grass to watch the fun the other fairies are having. She is smiling just a bit as she watches the others romp and play.

Intensity “Intensity”

The young fairy is showing intensity in her eyes and her look as she gazes at the future and feels the tug of the past.

Offended “Offended”

Her hair whips around as she turns and casts a look of feeling offended.

Sun on my face “Sun on my face”

This image has to do with the sun shinning down on a fairy as she wakes up in the morning and surrenders herself to the day.

Fairy in the garden “Fairy in the garden”

This image is of a fairy resting her arms on a tree stump and sitting among the foilage.

Keiths picture “Keiths picture”

This is a lady I drew for a man named Keith, only I can't find him, so I am posting her here. She is entering the fairy realm .

Dark Horse 2 “Dark Horse 2”

Sometimes I like to stray from drawing fairies and draw horses, or dragons, or maybe a wizard or two. This is a black horse standing among the long grass.

Horse by water “Horse by water”

This is another picture of a horse I drew. He is running beside the ocean and looking back at you.
