Barbara L. Clark

I have had the urge to paint for many years and these paintings are the beginning of that process. My life studies include architecture, photography and decorative painting. Trompe l'oeil training is the stepping stone into my fine art painting style.

I only reference my own photographs and demand strong, uncontrived composition. Very seldom do I adjust details to make a "better" composition. These paintings reflect my love for tropical environs.

I paint with a limited palette in acrylics on gesso board. By mixing every color, I am able to paint both the harmony and variety of color in nature.

No color, texture, and especially dimension is too nuanced for me to explore in my paintings.

Painterly realism is my artistic goal.
