Reber Anna

Born 1960 in Berne, Switzerland

I am strongly attracted by two art movements, abstract expressionism and pop art. I am working on large scale abstractions and, on the other hand, I am working very figurative. My large scale abstractions often show the influence of ‘abstract expressionism’ and my figurative paintings often take imagery, which could be in use in advertising. The colors in the figurative paintings are mostly achromatic in addition with one bright color. The interaction of colours and shapes often results in surprising moments, which may show a new point of view. I let myself inspire by the world around me, by the colors I see in daily life and the composition of how things are arranged in nature. My paintings allow the viewer creative space for his own imagination.
