world globally. .
Romaine works with oils, acrylics and other mixed media to integrate the textures and line symbols used to create an aesthetic balance of land and water. Romaine has soloed many times in a Cessna150 to
understand aerial views of the landforms and incorporate her knowledge in her paintings.

HEART OF THE DESERT

My work is not oriented to deal with specific themes. In a way, the main theme
is the construction of a language and its permanent exploration. Painting
becomes an open space, where images can manifest from the inside out. I always want to enter this space, to know more, to let things happen, and it’s the painting and its dynamism that shows me and directs me. It is more the idea of opening a door, inviting images to come, than the idea of someone trying to say something in a certain way.
The development of the painting and each picture functions like a universe in itself, with many elements coexisting together. The whole movement of painting is a movement of making these elements appear, in a constant search for balance, tension, and equilibrium.

ENJOY THE RIDE BABY “ENJOY THE RIDE BABY”

ALL ARTISTS SHOULD BE FAITHFUL TO THE FLATNESS OF THE CANVAS. I must suggest depth and movement, contrasts in color, form and texture. I must speak through the paint, not through words. My expression is color. "The whole world will see it visually as I do.." I am balanced through an impulse of control, not a picture but an event. What is to go on a painting is the birth of action painting. You become what you think about. I also want to reinforce what has worked for me in maintaining a positive approach to life. One must manage one's energy levels, keep one's soul alive, take new paths,
