Victoria Montesinos

I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN MEXICO CITY. THERE I ATTENDED THE ARTS ACADEMY FOR SIX YEARS, STARTING AT THE AGE OF 17, MY MOST IMPORTANT INFLUENCE WAS MY FATHER, IN HIS LIFE AS AN ARTIST AND AS AGREAT FILM DIRECTOR. I LEARNED FROM HIM THE MAGIC OF CINEMA.

IN 1984, I MOVED TO NEW YORK CITY WHERE I STUDIED LITHOGRAPHY AT THE AMERICAN ATELIER AND PRINTED 20 ORIGINAL EDITIONS WHICH WERE PUBLISHED BY ONE OF THE LARGEST PUBLISHING HOUSES IN AMERICA.

SINCE 1978 I HAVE HAD WELL OVER 50 ONE MAN SHOWS OF MY WORK--IN MEXICO, PARIS AND JAPAN, AS WELL AS THE UNITED STATES. MY WORK HAS GAINED WIDE APPEAL AND CONTINUES TO SELL EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT EUROPE, MEXICO AND THE UNITED STATES.

MY WORK PROPOSES A DIALOGUE ABOUT A CULTURAL MIXTURE FORMED BY MY OWN LIVING EXPERIENCES WHERE I COMMUNICATE THEM TROUGH REAL AND UNREAL FORMS AND DEPTHS OF COLOR.

MY PURPOSE IS TO INVITE THE SPECTATOR TO FEEL THE DREAMS AND EMOTIONS OF HIS OWN UNIVERSE.
