Alfredo De Curtis was born in Italy. In is native Naples at a very young age he discovered his talent for drawing. After spending few years in Milan in the early seventies he came in North America and after many trouble finally he settled in Toronto. In Toronto Alfredo worked for 25 years as a graphic artist. In the early 1990 being financially secure he dedicated himself full time to his art.
Alfredo's work expresses originality clarity and creativity. His subtle translucent colours and compositional forms, evoke intense poetry, and spiritual emotion. A quiet solitude slumbers over all his paintings. There is depth and intelligent thought behind the haunting figures, places and inanimate objects and almost perfect melting point of past and future. present is transitory.
