I'm a fine art photographer living in one of the most scenic regions of the California central coast, the Monterey Peninsula. I developed a passion for photography late in life. I learned darkroom techniques when I was in college, but at that time I was focused more on software engineering and classical piano. Fast forward a few years and I realized that visual art is my true calling. Today I like to call myself an “artist with a camera.”

I started taking photography seriously about six years ago. I have been developing my own style through a process of self discovery. The more I learn, the more I reveal myself to the world through the images that I make.

Living in an area with such a strong photographic tradition, I've been inspired by many talented artists, especially some amazing women photographers. Martha Casanave, for example, introduced me to the eerie world of pinhole imagery and cyanotypes. I learned from Jane Olin how a photograph reveals more about the photographer than the subject. I do agree with those that believe that every photograph is a self-portrait. Elizabeth Opalenik taught be how to tear down preconceived notions and expand my artistic horizon.

I have participated in group exhibitions at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, California, the RoHo Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Vermont Photoplace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, and the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado. I was the first place winner in the fine art category of the 4th Master's Cup International Color Awards, second and third places at the 6th B&W Spider awards, and recipient of a Color Magazine's Spotlight award and B&W Magazine's Spotlight award.
