Born in Tokyo in 1948, Igarashi is an oil painter who began painting after engaging in detailed research on art history and the background behind various pieces, learning from books, paintings viewed in person, and other materials. His pieces, often portraits of people, painted with delicate touches and making use of warm colors, have been noticed both in Japan and overseas.
