BOTANICALS

Over the years it's become obvious that I can not resist these studies. Plants, particularly spear leaf shapes with stems, have afforded endless composition opportunities. Texture, line and color and the opposition of these elements in line and shape give a constant invitation for abstraction. Ultimately it is a celebration of creation. In the doing there is the pleasure of discovery and the challenge of rational editing. A swamp is primal beauty; dangerous to navigate.
