Namie Kobayashi

NAMIE KOBAYASHI

Location: Japan

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1937, Namie Kobayashi is a pressed Hana (flower) artist and member of the Fushigina (Incredible) Hana(flower) Club. Her skillfully crafted pressed flowers feature various abstract and concrete motifs including landscape, human figures and mental imagery. Her works are made with such fine techniques that they are sometimes mistaken for oil paintings.
