Born in1950 in Aichi Prefecture, Masuda is a calligrapher and calligraphy teacher. Having majored in classical Japanese literature in university, Masuda uses this background to compose haiku and record them in calligraphy. Written on paper matched to the seasonal themes of her poems, Masuda's pieces exude a sense of peace and tranquility and are popular both in Japan and abroad.
