Deprise Brescia is a mixed media artist specializing in "Transformational Energy Art". She merges science and spirituality to create art for uplifting places and spaces.
Deprise received private training as a child and received awards for her sketching. She earned a BA in Dance and Theatre Arts as a young adult. Her study of art abroad continued throughout the years in Europe, Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Her techniques mix mediums, cultural philosophies and her experimentation with new materials has allowed an even greater transformation. Mixing ancient arts with the modern age in order to illustrate her message of “WE ARE ONE”, the underlying theme through all of her works.
Deprise continues her private coaching and training in a variety of disciplines including; videography, digital art, photography, painting, 3-D collage, stonework, drawing and encaustic painting.

Planetary and metaphysical grids of semi precious stones along with arrays are found in this portfolio collection. Art that merges science and spirituality in order to shift energetic frequencies is my definition of 'Transformational Energy Art' and here it is used with stones in grid formations for their energetic properties. My intention is to create artworks that incorporate scientifically proven methods and spiritual practices for positive change.
Semi precious stones, music, positive words, prayers and intentions are embedded into the works with the sole intention of uplifting the place and space it is placed in. In short, I create art for uplifting places and spaces. By surrounding ourselves with positive artwork, we can entrain with that energy.

The inspiration for Cupid's Descent comes from the concept of prayers for love being answered by the divine forces that be. Teardrops fall from the heavens at the realization that even though love is everywhere, most cannot connect or allow love in. In the desire to assist, Cupid descends from the heavens and removes the veil that creates the illusion of separation from love, the only thing that truly matters.
This work is an encaustic painting made of beeswax, Damar resin and pigments on wood. It measures 36"x 24"
Nature and flowers are a great inspiration in my work. Many of these works incorporate botanical elements like flowers, rose petals, grapes, vines leaves for their texture and energetic properties.

I wanted to share part of my process of transforming the photography & digital art images I created into original artworks that make unique, one of a kind works of art.
I merge the ancient art of encaustic painting with beeswax and damar resin with the modern technological achievements captured through digital photography and manipulation.
Painting in photoshop is truly an art form of it's own and should be respected as such. So much can be done through the digital process when an artist is set free.
I am able to take the digital paintings I create a step farther and embellish them with semi precious stones and other adornments. Here is where I merge science and spirituality and create the artwork that resonates with my soul. I create artwork for uplifting places and spaces.
Personally I have always been drawn to both science and spirituality. I love many cultures and people. I see the unity in us all, I see how we are more alike than different. I see we all want, need and thrive on love and positive energy. My desire it to share that through art. I want to entrain with positive people and energy. That is where my attention is focused.
Sometimes when people take in my art they ask 'What is it?" It doesn't fit into a familiar box of the past, but touches upon many. People seem to get confused when something new comes along.
So I thought I would share some of the process of what I am doing to give a better understanding of how each of these Encaustic Mixed Media Pieces are birthed.
Layers and layers of meaning, scientific techniques, spirituality, Hado work, sacred geometry, feng shui, semi precious stones, digital art, photography, film out-takes and music are used during the burning in process in a modern merging of disciplines spanning thousands of years.
Here are a few before and after pictures. The digital artwork is on the left and the final encaustic mixed media artwork is on the right. Notice how they are similar and different, sort of the way I feel about people. We are different and the same.

All of the images began with a photograph and through a variety of techniques they are altered into something different and unique. Layering, merging, painting, liquifying with brushes and tools from the technological realm help create works that were never possible before the computer and all of its possibilities.
