Born in Aomori Prefecture in 1956, Ogasawara is a painter who uses traditional gansai paints and inks to color gyotaku prints of fish he caught himself. His equally realistic and fanciful pieces have gained much attention for the worlds they create, made possible only because the artist is so well versed in the art of fishing.
