Ahmet Ogras was born in 1961 in Balikesir , Turkey . He met with the beauty of painting when he was a child, and he made different type of paintings. After graduation from Middle East Technical University as a Civil Engineer in 1988, he founded his own construction company and he has been working as a contractor since then. Company' s main business stream consists of indusry plants and power plants.

In the early years of his journey, he focused on air brush painting and worked on oil painting for many years as an amateur artist. In 2004, he met with the beauty of watercolor painting in “ART EV ISIL ÖZISIK GALLERY”. Artist Isill Özisik was the person who made Ahmet O?ra? to fall in love with watercolor painting. And this love has remained with him till today. Ahmet O?ra? continued on his work with the support of watercolor artist, Burhan Özer. In 2005, he had his first solo exhibition at “ RED ART GALLERY ” and he embarked on a professional art career.

In the pursue of better watercolor painting, Ahmet Ogras has joined many workshops of famous watercolor artists such as Joseph Zbukvic and Alvaro Castagnet. Thus, he had opportunity to improve different techniques with his own synthesis by adding his talent, his soul and his feelings on watercolor paper.

It was the simplicity and poetry of watercolor painting that attracted Ahmet O?ra? in the world of watercolor. He mainly selects his subjects from both city life of ?stanbul and nature. Apart from the real visuality and colors, he is interested in the influence of light while interpreting subjects in his paintings. And he is going on to play with the light and look for its reflections in his paintings...

In 2011, he got the award of “OUTSTANDING WATERCOLOUR” (2011) – Nov 2011 FineArtViews BoldBrush Painting Competition.
