Joan Dorrill

Joan Dorrill has painted for over 35 years, beginning with traditional drawing and painting styles. Her work has evolved over the years into experimental, abstract, work using acrylic and mixed media. Joan is a signature member of ISAP, International Society of Acrylic Painters. She was selected as Artist of the Year in 2011 for the Jacksonville Watercolor Society in Jacksonville, FL. She has won awards throughout her career and has paintings in private and corporate collections. In her early years she helped found the In-Town Gallery in Chattanooga, TN and served as it's president for the first two years. She is also a past president of Professional Artists of St. Augustine Gallery in St. Augustine, FL. Her work is sold in various galleries and at Saatchi On-Line Gallery.

Imagination in process

My art exhibits a joyful experimental time in the studio. Most of my collage papers are carefully hand painted by me using acrylic paint on a variety of papers. I also use a variety of media to express energy and movement throughout the composition.
