Horst Beyer

Horst Beyer

Location: Italy

Born in 1960 in Deggendorf Germany he studied History of Art in Munich,  and later on got specialized as a computer professional for several year working for important banks and consulting companies, but always cultivating his passion for art and painting which accompanied him since he was a child.

In the late 90es he moved to Italy living in the countryside nearby Florence where he could devote himself fulltime to visual arts starting with more traditional techniques, like abstract oil painting and watercolor, developing eventually a very personal way of expressing himself by combining the abstract beauty of chromatic backgrounds with the sobriety of electricity cables from everyday use.

Inspired by the multiple potential of this recycled material, the artist evokes new dimensions of space, surface and color by cutting, tying, plating and transforming the electricity cables into the main component of his esthetical work.

The tension resulting from the combination of colored wires, shiny copper, concrete and painted, light and shadows, bi dimensional and three dimensional , leads the viewer into a fascinating world of new associations.
