Only We Know

In my ‘ONLY WE KNOW’ series I was inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and like her I love bright, bold and intense greens, reds, purples, yellows, blues and black to paint. I often use flat colour, emphasizing the shape of subject rather than three-dimensional form. I painted flowers much larger than life so that people would take notice and experience them the same way I did, making them appear monumental. - I used flowers as subject matter presenting anatomy of the flower in sharp focus, painted as if looking at them through a magnifying glass.. also expressing hidden ways of portraying personality’s of the leading man in my life at the time.

The Best of Her

My work resonates with the feminist belief of the political as well as personal in ‘Free the Nipple’ equality campaign, supporting feminine body equality and empowerment through art to defeat female body oppression and archaic censorship laws. ‘THE BEST OF HER’ triptych collages are about the rite of passage that addresses complexities of being a woman, with the light note and dash of mischief between the lines.
'THE BEST OF HER' is a hexaptych series (part of six), each canvas can stand alone or in conjunction with the other as a diptych or triptych.

Ma Philosophie' I

The female form is often stylized with few recognizable traits: at first sight, the deconstruction of the body reminds us of the eternalized female figures by Modigliani, De Chirico and Man Ray. Nevertheless, in my work the sexual element is sublimated with few strokes enriched by a highly instinctive approach to the complexity of a female psyche that rejects the imposition of rooted and male-dominated morality. By my portrays eroticism as a heroic subject. Immortalising the body in an enigmatic and limbless representation, it leaves the spectator speechless creating and emphasising the woman’s anatomy with vivid transparency.

Turning into You

A series of pencil drawings linked with series of 'The Best of Her' & 'Ma Philosophie' I - The social and political implications are clearly perceived in my work: both the series “Ma Philosophie” and “Turning into you” are based on a personal campaign against female oppression and archaic censorship laws. I convey a feminist voice against gender inequality employing the language of art.

Archive - Landscapes & Sill Lifes

Still lifes to the landscapes drawn from photographs portraying Highlands and Wimbledon Commons.
" Thus, Gotowiecka’s still lifes, depicted with the expressive approach of a mature Van Gogh, are not open to mere sentimentalism and basic communication of emotion: each composition represents an intense connection between the viewer and the artist’s inner soul. For Adriana, painting the reality is not just a passion, it is a necessity. In fact, the energy projected in her still life paintings culminates in later works where Adriana explores and discovers the mysterious dimension of the female form. Delicate and soft lines brought to life through the majesty of her expressive touch, a touch that radiates elegance and sensuality. " - Art Critic: Timothy Warrington

Mirror of the Soul

Just like there are two sides to every story, there are to sides to every woman. One that she decides to reveal to the world, the other she keeps hidden inside.. it can also be seen as a friendship or partnership.
