Anne Swan Moore is a nature-inspired realist painter who lives in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. She was born in San Antonio, TX into a musical family and at a young age she learned to play the piano, flute, cornet, and classical guitar. However, Anne quickly realized that painting would be her life’s creative endeavor. She advanced her innate artistic skills at the McNay Art Institute in San Antonio, TX, followed by classes with private instructors. She earned a BFA in painting at the University of Houston where she studied with renowned artists John Alexander, James Surls and Derek Boshier.
Early in her career Anne had a studio in New York City’s renowned SoHo arts district for nine years where she was exposed to the leading art movements, museums, and galleries. Her more than 50 solo and group exhibitions worldwide include those at the Las Vegas Contemporary Museum, San Diego Museum of Art, and leading art fairs in major cities including those in New York, NY. She also exhibited in Provence, France, Caffe degli Aristi, de Saisset Museum, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA, and had many exhibitions at the Harris Gallery in Houston, TX.
Anne has attracted many private collectors that span the globe, and her artwork is in the corporate collections of CMS Energy, Texas Mostyn Law Firm, and EOG Resources, among others.
Anne’s art has been featured in numerous art books, magazines, and catalogues. Her work was published in New American Paintings in a competition juried by Charlotta Kotick, Curator, Brooklyn Museum. Artweek magazine art critic Robert McDonald declared that Anne’s “color sense is sophisticated and pleasing, and her control of the brush is energetic and sure.” In the Los Angeles Times, Leah Goldman praised Anne’s work as “evocative.” Phyllis Van Doren featured her art in the article “Art Boom” in San Diego Home/Garden.
In praise of Anne’s art, Renee Phillips, Director/Curator, Manhattan Arts International, New York, NY, wrote: “Anne Swan Moore captures the awe-inspiring positive abundance in the natural world through a robust medley of colorful flowers, fruits, landscapes, wetlands, and more. Her vibrant ‘In My Garden’ series is a life-affirming haven of discovery and renewal. It is an exquisite fusion of her expert use of color, masterful painting techniques, and her inherent gift to induce healing through art.”
Regarding time of the Covid:.
This virus time, as for many, has been a time for quite reflection. We have been fortunate to have in our little garden two mourning doves nesting above our wreath that still hangs on our front door. Each evening we visit not only with the dove family but also the humming birds and other guests who happen to be flying through. Only one of the two dove eggs, their normal bearing, survived. Ms Dove could not have looked or seemed prouder with her gorgeous offspring as she started developing her wing feathers. I hope to have done justice to the proud Mom & baby Paloma.

I love having the luxury of the abundance of the flowers which grow around us through out the year and love playing with the juxtaposition of their shapes and colors to each other.
