Loren Ellis, M.F,A, degree Fla. State U. and B.A. U. South Fla. Her studio and Art for Healing NYC Int’l org are based in Manhattan. Loren terms her style “photographic paintings” because Loren works in a darkroom, and all her pieces are ONE of a Kind, hand printed and painted. Loren's art and her book “Photographs and Thoughts” of her early works and poetry, are in the NY Public Library, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Museum of HIstory of PHotography in Krawkow , Poland, Kodak, etc. "A Tiny Voice" is a 30 minute video documentary of a photographer interviewed at 100 years old. Loren has taught photography and painting at Parson’s School of Design, Columbia Preparatory schools. Loren is presently teaching via Art for Healing NYC Int’l, in Manhattan.
Loren Ellis founded Art for Healing NYC Int’l Org. a 501 c 3 charity, in May 2000. Our mission is to bridge the gap to help visual and performing artists share the healing power of their art with the community. We offer visual and performing arts workshops with children, the elderly and veterans, free business consultation to artists, free arts material access, outreach and events ongoing about our 911 NYC arts peace and courage book, and more. We are developing our blog section which will be available for visual and performing artists to write about their art and also post links to videos and art works and upcoming events they have around the world!
