Teresa Lakier

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts for Art at California State University at Northridge and studying at California Institute of Art, Westlake, Teresa currently paints with oil, acrylic and mixed media, and experiment with these mediums.

Affiliated with and representing her are Gallery 825/LAAA, WallSpaceLA, and Hale Arts Space. Teresa has exhibited at VIVA Gallery, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, LARK Galleries, Museum of Latin American Art, Santa Monica Art Studios, Sulkin/Secant Gallery, Beyond the Lines Gallery and Phantom Galleries. She has also received a Third place in Score VII at VIVA Gallery. Teresa has received honorable mentions for Yes, Finding Your Roots and Colors of Life at LARK Galleries.

Doors

These geometric abstracts have an amorphous form and function in mind; encompass an evocative use of light, shape and form; or, have compositions that seem not to exist realistically.

The theme of these works is space that is incomprehensible vs. space that is communicative. Space speaks through the relationship of composition, color, light, shape and form.
