I am a Korean immigrated to Canada in 1967 as Registered Nurse.
I studied fine arts after retirement and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia in 2006.
My multi-media works investigate identity under the influence of Korean and Canadian cultures, particularly about gender equality and traditions. They are grounded in the natural world, but look beyond the scenic to search for symbols and meaning of my encounters in life.
As an artist, I feel that is important to express my personal views and feelings towards current social issues, in particular the global environment. Currently I have been spending my time concentrating on creating techniques of digitally manipulating photography.
