My two loves in life are painting oils and playing musical instruments. I started painting as a young boy and have never stopped. There are great artists but my favourites are Van Gogh, Renoir and Monet. I have lived and worked in a number of countries in Europe and visited many galleries in Vienna, Barcelona, Paris, Zurich and London
In my oil paintings I have always painted for enjoyment and give a message out to the viewer. NB. The painting 'The Harvesters' was taken from a black and white photograph appearing in the Guardian newspaper under the title...Country Diary 1920: harvest gleaning in Buckinghamshire borders -Farming. I added a new background to the painting. I have a lovely letter from the late Queen of England who viewed the painting and was very impressed. I have the letter framed.
The photo appeared in the Guardian newspaper and I painted the parts of the photo in black and white against a new country background that was in colour. I wanted to give it a window of times gone by but also a feeling of it actually happening right now.
This is a man and everything he owns traveling with a horse and cart to paradise which I discovered is a town that does exist in the US
This is Lake Thun in Switzerland. The castle does exist and is 13th century. The artist is Monet or rather what I think he would look likened he's painting the castle from his view which one can view. Monet has a beautiful poem about a bird so I added my favourite one to the painting. Also the three boats in a line was inspired by Monets painting
A drinking night out for the three as one offered a young serving lady a red rose but she knows its the drink speaking.......
I spent three days walking around Paris taking many photos...
