Marilyn Charlat Dix

After moving to Seattle I resumed my passion and started to re-explore my artistic interests. The figure has always been present in my work. After caretaking for family members afflicted with Alzheimers, memory and images from my past intrigued me. I began to revisit family photos. These images started to appear my paintings n 2004 when I was an Affiliate Artist at the McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte NC. My artwork continues to evolve as I explore my interest in memory utilizing acrylic skins, paper, plexiglass and other non-traditional formats.

My paintings represent a split second in time. My current work explores the complexity of human personality and form, generational relationships and human interaction. Stories are told.
