Born in Arnhem, Marcel Bastiaans now lives in The Netherlands. He studied Art and Design at the 'Academy for Industrial Design and Arts' in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Bastiaans has had several group show participations, radio and television performances and solo exhibitions in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, New York USA, Spain and The Netherlands, including the 'Barcelona Showcase' at Gaudi's 'Casa Batllo' in Spain, 'Spazio Culturale' in Florence, Italy and at 'Art-Innbruck' Austria, choosen by an international jury. His works belong to international private and public collections and Marcel is an awarded artist and member of 'The Society Artists Firenze Italy'.

Marcel paints with acrylic- and oilpaint. Mostly goldleaf added to the paintings.
He started with realistic works in the past and evolved to a more abstract style, sometimes combined with realistic items.
Marcel has a name for this: 'Emotional Realism'.
