Location: Canada
I am a visual artist and sculptor born in Izmir-Turkey. Having begun my artistic education in Lima-Peru at the Universidad Católica. More recently I graduated from OCAD University in Toronto-Canada, as a Bachelor in Fine Arts, majoring in Sculpture/Installation program.
I exhibited in various group and juried exhibitions, where I’ve been a recipient of various awards. I participated in several special presentations, I’ve been part of contemporary art fairs over the years: SOFA Chicago 2007, Toronto Art Expo (2004, 2005 & 2014), The Artist Project in Toronto (2015 & 2016) & Art Vancouver 2016.
Whether drawings or sculptures, representational or conceptual, my work can be seen as a series of meditations on the interplay between the human condition and time. The dynamism of movement, of journeys and cycles, of transitions and doorways are marked by the transformations of both the physical and the spiritual.
Humanity has always been of great interest to me--our evolution and our stages of growth. I aim to create visual pieces in light of what is important to me and to our society-- the things that we need to embrace to feel fulfilled in life. I believe that each of our individuality and identity is enhanced by our thoughts and traditions. I hope that my work speaks to viewers, reminds them about their roots and the basic tenets in life and opens them up to new experiences. Experiences that add infinite value to who we are and where we come from.
