Cecilia Ariztia is a Chilean artist, based in Santiago de Chile. She studied Fine Arts in the 80's. She started working in art education, but never left behind her works of art, exploring different themes, materials and techniques, especially the relation between drawing and painting. She is currently studying abstract painting, seeking Anni Albers or Agnes Martin as inspiration for female artists. This new chapter in her artwork motivated her to jump to art fairs. Her work is based on constant research on materiality. A slow process, rhythm and pulse give life to these pieces, showing the condensation of layers that gradually erase the light in the work.
