Jan van Rijn (Leiden – Netherlands 1953) has after completing his vocational training at the Nederlandse Fotovakschool follewed several courses and workshop, among them the Vrije Academie Psychopolis in The Hague and the CPDB in Utrecht.
Alongside his work as a photographer he is teaching photography at Parkvilla centre of arts in Alphen aan den Rijn and gives courses at severel institutes, schools and companies.
The field in wich he operates are mainly portaiture, still lifes and the (urban) landscapes at which next to pictures with a pure documentary – not manipulated - character also a more edited picture is not avoided.
