Chris Shields, award winning Artist and illustrator attended Northwich College of Art and Design in the 1970s and specializes in highly detailed artwork, mainly natural history illustration, but also paints people and still-life subjects. More recently he has also been painting in a looser impressionist style. Produced to date in excess of twenty thousand Natural History illustrations in over 300 books, numerous calendars, greeting cards, posters and jigsaw puzzles. Clients include; Harper Collins, A & C Black, Usborne Publishing, Random House, BBC Broadcasting, BBC Wildlife Magazine, EDF Energy, WWF (The World Wide Fund for Nature), RSPB (The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), FSC (Field Studies Council), The Wildlife Trusts and Orient Express.
Exhibited paintings widely in the UK and China and has paintings in public and private collections all over the world

These painting are all painted in acrylic on canvas and are all around a meter across.
This is a looser style than my normal highly detailed natural history illustrations.
All these images are executed in gouache and water color and were produced as illustrations for various publishers.
