Catherine Anderson, Aws

A painter for over 40 years, Catherine was born in Chicago and attended the American Academy of Fine Art, University of Cincinnati and Academy of Art College in San Francisco. She is a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society (AWS), National Watercolor Society (NWS), California Watercolor Association (CWA), Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society, Knickerbocker Artists (KA) and Watercolor West (WW).

Catherine was invited to both the prestigious Artists of America (AOA) Exhibit in Denver, Colorado and the Great American Artists (GAA) Exhibition and Sale in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her art was chosen to be in two Disney movies – DARK WATER and DÉJÀ VU.

She is the author of the “Basic Watercolor Answer” book and creator of the art instructional video “Creating Multiple Glazes in Your Watercolors”. Her work appears in the North Light Books, Splash 5, Best of Watercolor, The Glory of Color, Exploring Color, The Best of Flower Painting, The Best of Watercolor 2 and Painting Texture. She has been featured in The Artist’s Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who in America.

Her paintings are found in corporate collections and in the private collections of William and Margaret Hearst, Patti and Gavin MacLeod, the late Elizabeth Montgomery and gifted collector, Steven Spielberg, Hyatt Regency, NY and the San Francisco Medical Center. Catherine’s paintings have been exhibited in museums throughout the United States and Mexico.
