I am a writer and a student of Torah.I have studied and loved Torah all my life. I express my love for these stories and their lessons in my paintings.I try to convey their deep meaning in the scenes I depict. I depict the characters from behind as we have some knowledge of their aspect but out of respect I do not give them a face because I cannot know what they actually looked like. This is one of the recurring features of my paintings. It is also to focus more attention on the story that the painting tells rather than what a certain character looked like.
My portfoglio contains acrylic and oil paintings of Biblical stories, prayers and Torah concepts. Some well known and some lesser known.
The painting was inspired by the holiday of Passover. During Passover 2017 I had the image come to mind while carrying out a practice in Judaism called counting the Omer. Counting the 49 days between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot-
Counting Each day represents spiritual preparation and anticipation for the giving of the Torah which was given by God on Mount Sinai
The story of Ruth is one of love,faith and conversion. The Moabitess who was married to a son of the house of Judah, upon becoming a widow follows Naomi,her mother-in- law back to the land of Judah in Israel. Her loyalty to her mother-in-law, her willingness and courage to stay by naomi’s side in a country not her own, her noble reputation and goodness led her to marry the man in whose wheat field she was gleaning. Her famous words to Naomi, "your people will be my people and your God, my God" led her to be in the position to one day become the great grandmother of Kind David.

19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and charioteers rushed into the sea, the Lord brought the water crashing down on them. But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground! 20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced. 21 And Miriam sang this song:

The 13 Attributes of Mercy are based on two verses in Exodus: “The Lord! The Lord! God, Compassionate and Gracious, Slow to anger and Abundant in Kindness and Truth, Preserver of kindness for thousands of generations, Forgiver of iniquity, willful sin, and error, and Who Cleanses (but does not cleanse completely, recalling the iniquity of parents upon children and grandchildren, to the third and fourth generations)” (34:6-7).
Esther is the story of a beautiful young Jewess who became the queen of Persia then risked her life to serve God and save her people. This painting depicts the moment that the king raises the scepter to spare her life when she comes to him without invitation. This act led to the salvation of the Jewish people from total annihilation.
