Born 1929 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, UK. After my National Service as personal clerk to Field Marshal Montgomery
I was awarded a grant to study at the Sheffield College of Art and following my Diploma year exhibition I was invited to exhibit with the Yorkshire Society of Artists in Leeds City Art Gallery.. Also hung that year were Henry Moore, Alan Davie, John Hoyland  and David Hockney.
    I moved to London and joined publishers Faber & Faber. Took courses in book Illustration and typography at the Central School of art and illustrated a number of Faber books.
    I later spent 9 years in Sri Lanka as Art Director. In 1969
returned to London and re-entered advertising world to support my young family and continue painting. Emigrated to Spain in ‘83 and after 9 years as graphic designer began to paint full-time and had my first Retrospective in 2000. Had more one-man shows, two more Retrospectives and many joint exhibitions on the Costa del Sol. Am currently on show with Project DIN A4 touring Europe and South America (details in my Biography).
