Karen I. Hirsch is an award-winning commercial, editorial and fine art photographer based in Chicago, Illinois. She "tells the story" with her editorial images and her sense of graphic design carries over to her fine art creations.. Hirsch was asked by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs to do a one-woman show where she displayed more than 200 of her Chicago images of Chicago's people, places and events at the Richard J. Daley Civic Center located in the heart of the City. In 2007, the Chinese government invited Hirsch along with nine other photographers to produce images of Rizhao for a special project to attract tourism and business to that city. Her work has been published in Communication Arts Photography Annual and the Graphis Photo Annual as well as numerous books, magazines and newspapers.

Hirsch is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers.

Her photos are found in corporate and private collections.
