After a distinguished career in finance, Paul felt an undeniable pull towards a different path—a path that honored his great-great-grandfather, Charles Shampine, a renowned sculptor born in 1830. This lineage ignited a profound transformation in Paul's life, steering him towards the creative arts.

"It’s in our blood," Paul reflects. "My father was a design engineer, my mother a painter, and my uncle a commercial illustrator."  This rich heritage, combined with an intrinsic drive to create, inspired Paul to leave his successful career in finance and fully immerse himself in the world of art.

Shampine’s story is one of rediscovery and passion, resonating through each piece of art he creates. His work not only honors his great-great-grandfather’s legacy but also carves a path for future generations of artists to explore the transformative power of art and emotional resonance, earning him a growing reputation in the contemporary art scene.

With a beginner’s mind and a passionate heart, Paul dedicated himself to understanding the properties of various materials, ranging from traditional mediums like steel and glass to modern composites and resins. His deep exploration of color and form is heavily influenced by the natural world and enriched by his travels and studies with master artists, including the illustrious Bubacco Brothers in Venice, Italy

Paul's award-winning approach to art is distinguished by his ambition to blur the lines between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces. His works often feature dynamic, flowing forms that challenge the viewer’s perception of shape and space, fostering a unique dialogue between the artwork and its environment.

Shampine's sculptures are a harmonious blend of traditional techniques and contemporary aesthetics. His pieces, deeply inspired by the organic forms found in nature, boast a distinctive style that is both innovative and evocative. Each piece is a testament to the enduring power of creativity and the human spirit’s capacity for renewal.
