Abstract art! Sight, texture, color, smell; engaging our inner-child and challenging our thoughts and senses. The bridge between fantasy and reality, like a doorway leading wherever you want it to go. I strive to capture an element of spontaneity in my work that I believe gives a piece purity and veracity that may be lost with detailed planning or hesitation. I experiment mostly with abstract and neo-Expressionist styles and use virtually any method to apply paint to the canvas that works in the moment –scraping, pouring, finger painting, etc. I strive for a rawness that may immediately captivate the viewer and spur attentiveness to the movements in the paint, lines and shapes.
