R. Nels Bremness has worked as director of photography for a number decades and has always been a visual thinker. His work on television series and documentaries has earned him numerous awards. R. Nels is new to the art scene as he has recently graduating from the University of Alberta Visual Arts program where he was the recipient of the Constance McFarland award.

“When you are using a camera you are some what limited by the environment and the equipment you have to create the images, with a brush the only limitation you have is your imagination.”

His love of nature and the outdoors has been the inspiration for his paintings. Bold brush strokes combine with an unexpected combination of colours to create dynamic images that leave a lasting impression on the viewer.
