Carolina Rojas

Location:

Born in Venezuela and currently residing in Black Mountain, North Carolina, Carolina Rojas has pursued art with an unwavering passion since childhood. While other children colored within the lines, Carolina was already reimagining the boundaries, creating her own world of images and forms. Encouraged by her family, she began formal art training at a young age, immersing herself in drawing and sculpture. By age 13, she was sketching nudes, exploring the human figure as a central theme—a subject that has continued to inspire and ground her work.

Rojas’s acclaimed "Global Man" series reflects her fascination with the universal human experience. These large-scale, androgynous figures, including a monumental 9-foot sculpture that took two years to complete, feature a distinct facial neutrality—void of gender or race. Each piece embodies an idea of unity and timelessness, speaking to a shared humanity that transcends boundaries.

Her artistic process, as noted by Dr. Barbara Aust-Wegemund of Art History Consulting, is marked by meticulous precision. "Like a scientist, she analyzes the exact proportions and measurements of her vision, projecting it into new forms. Every element—material choice, surface texture, form—is essential to her work’s sensory and symbolic resonance. Her sculptures are metaphors of existence, suspended between physical reality and metaphysical exploration, inviting viewers to reflect on the deeper substance of life and time."

Carolina’s bronze sculptures are featured in private collections across the United States, Venezuela, China, Mexico, and Spain. Working between Miami and North Carolina, she continues to expand her artistic journey, exhibiting in galleries worldwide.
