She has received many awards form juried exhibits for her art, as well as art teaching. As a visual art teacher she felt it was important to be proficient in different art mediums in order to bring the best techniques to students. In 2014 she retired from teaching art in the public school systems; however still continues teaching art at workshops and private lessons.
Angelika often combines different art media or natural forms, from nature, in a single piece of art to intrigue and draw the viewer in for a closer look.
Her body of art work consists of a variety of mediums. She is always seeking new ways to create art and does not limit herself to only one medium. The mediums she is most noted for are assemblages, ceramic sculptures, photography, print making, color pencil paintings and watercolor. Her ceramic sculptures are usually figurative that incorporate many techniques, textures and often added materials. The 2-D works are mostly realism of objects from nature and scenes from the environment. Assemblages and mixed media pieces tend to be abstract.
She is a member of the Artists Guild of Columbia County, Clay Artists of the Southeast, North Augusta Artist Guild, Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, the Morris Museum, Harlem Arts Council, Georgia Art Educators Association and Ceramic Arts Network.
