Diy

Daniel I. Yanez was born August 19, 1985 in Dallas Texas. Daniel has two older brothers and two older sisters who were raised by their single mother. Growing up poor, Mexican and fatherless; odds were greatly against him. He spent most of his days dreaming of the day he would make a difference so great in his life that he could live on forever. It was tough living in homeless shelters and on the streets, but he fought hard against the times. As he grew older he bounced around from school to school embracing as much of his child hood as possible. The day eventually came when he picked up a brush and began to express his feelings in a ways never imaginable by him. He was hooked. At the age of 8 he was recognized by his Art teacher at James Bowie Elementary (located in Oak Cliff) for his outstanding abilities to create art. He was soon recognized by the school who then gave him an invitation to take special art classes at an Art Institute in Dallas, TX. These couple classes would eventually pave the dream for young Daniel to become an artist. A few years later high school came around where the dream was still in his heart but the chase was on hold. High School was the time in his life where he learned more about himself and people. A lot of his concentration was in graduating itself, because he would eventually become the first to graduate out of his family. Surrounded by so many restraints, Daniel attempted to go to community college to follow his dream as an Artist. He soon found himself in the need to work because he would father his first child Brianna Yanez. Working, going to school and being a father was hard so Daniel stopped school. Three years later he fathered two more kids, Daniel Jr. and Brielle Yanez. He Then Realized he needed to teach them how to chase and accomplish their dreams. He then hit Art full force, going back to school, creating his website www.artbydiy.com, and painting his butt off. He is now currently a father of five, and his art is spread throughout the United States, just look for the unusual signature of DIY. He has received many awards for his Pop-Art, and is very desirable in the Pop-art scene. He has painted very desirable pieces of Marilyn Monroe, Ali, and President Obama, just to name a few. Daniel has also be accredited with the great quote, “Art is whatever the Fuck I say it is” (–Daniel Yanez). Still quite young, Daniel Yanez is a force to be “wrecken” with. We can only expect his art to become greater with so much time to evolve.
