A lifetime fine artist, Helen Sviderskis pursued a successful career in the conservation and restoration of fine art before turning to paint full time.
Helen Sviderskis is a member of the American Impressionists Society (AIS), Oil Painters of America and American Women Artists (AWA) She participated in many art exhibitions in Russia and USA. Her meritorious skill, talent and her ability to bring to life each work made her paintings very desirable and are in private and official collections around the world.
Helen Sviderskis was born in Moscow, Russia. She started to draw and paint in her early years and began her more serious study of drawing and painting in the Academician Grabar Fine Art Conservation Center and also privately in the studios of renowned art professors in Moscow. In addition to her career as a painter, she was a fine art conservator and iconographer.
Thanks to her profession as the paintings conservator, she was able to travel and visit many old Russian cities. This way she studied painting methods by copying remarkable ancient frescoes and paintings.
Knowledge gained in ancient painting methods allowed her to evolve a technique that enriches her paintings.
Helen says: “I start the painting process by mixing natural ground pigments, often grinding them by myself from minerals with alkyd medium. I finish the painting working with oil. It gives me the opportunity to present my subject in an aura of light, vibrant color and freshness. As a former fine art conservator, I know how important to use the best available materials for the longevity of the painting and I always follow this rule."
After immigration to America in 1987, Helen Sviderskis settled in New York City. She continued her art education by participating at seminars of the National Portrait Society and attending lectures at The Master Class at the Art Students League.
She became an American citizen in 1992.
After a few years of living in Manhattan, Helen moved to her own artist studio in the scenic Pocono Mountains. Together with her husband, Tad Sviderskis, Helen operated the thriving fine art conservation studio in New York City, named "Painting and Icon Conservation Co." But after Tad past away in 2008, Helen was working half-time in conservation and later moved to Florida, where she lives now in Miami.
Helen Sviderskis paintings are in both private and official collections throughout North America, Russia, Austria, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, and Romania.

This is an original oil painting of a landscape scene of the city of Bruges. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. I was traveling there and it was interesting to watch swans colony resting in one of the many Bruges canals. The historic city center is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North.

“The bridge to the town, Cuenca, Spain”
An original oil painting on canvas panel, a view of San Pablo bridge leading to Cuenca, Spain. Cuenca is a city set in the mountains of east-central Spain. Founded by Moors, it retains its Historic Walled Town with steep cobbled streets and medieval castle ruins. Perched on a limestone spur high above the Júcar and Huécar rivers, it's most famous for its well-preserved hanging houses. Cantilevered over the Huécar gorge, they seemingly cling to the cliffs’ edges.

The Ernest Hemingway House and Museum in Key West, USA
Original oil painting on canvas, this is a landscape scene of the Ernest Hemingway house and museum in Key West, Florida, USA, a view on the house from the garden, surrounded the house. The house was the residence of author Ernest Hemingway in Key West, Florida, United States. On November 24, 1968, it was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark. This was Hemingway's home from 1931 to 1939. Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote in this for ten years. During that time he wrote seventy percent of his lifetime works. I visited the house a few years ago and still impressed how beautifully preserved this gorgeous property, the exotic flowers, plants, and trees in this tropical garden.

Pristine condition. The best materials were used for the durability of the painting. To protect the picture from harsh sunlight and dust, it was covered with high-quality semi-gloss varnish with UV protection.
