In Joanna's profession as an artist, she changed the subject matter of her paintings several times but in the last 20 years her art portfolio is based on examination of fabric where Tlok finds gratification in bringing us uncommon studies of the common place. Fabric is so ubiquitous and plays such a huge role in everyday life that people seldom take the time to appreciate it. This is what Tlok shows to us by making simple fabric the subject of thoughtful paintings.
Her starting point for each painting is to arrange a composition out of fabric on the wall in her studio and consequently use it as an inspiration for her work.
