José Higuera was Born in Germany in 1966 in a family of Spanish origin, he is a self-taught artist. José is a professional artist and has a solid career in Spain and USA. José is a realistic painter and captures the beauty of the real things that surround him, like a wonderful landscape, the tender scene of a child playing with his pet or the natural beauty of a young woman, as a part of his works and not only a mere photographic representation.
“This painting is a part of my series of works entitled ‘Growing’, where I try to capture the behaviours and feelings I was discovering in my sons Jose and Miguel when they were growing and starting to know themselves. Perhaps the fact that these models were my kids made me pay closer attention to those behaviours, and even motivated me more to try and capture these feelings on the canvas. On a plaster background in blue and white, this piece shows the figure of a child holding a hat in his hands whilst waiting patiently for the person that observes him.”
