Aneliya Aleksandrova was born on 24.09.1979 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

In 2006 she
received her Ph.D. in
Art study (Mural painting)
from the
National Art Academy of Sofia. In 2003 she received a Master’s degree in mural painting from the National Art Academy of Sofia. In 2002 she received a Bachelor’s
degree in mural painting from
the
National Art Academy
of
Sofia. In
2002 she received a
Professional qualification certificate for teaching in  Fine arts (Sofia, Bulgaria). In 1998 she graduated Profiled gymnasium of Fine arts “Prof. Nikolay
Rainov” (Sofia,
Bulgaria).

Since 2006 she is a member of the
“Monumental arts” section of
the
Art Gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (Sofia, Bulgaria). Since 2018 she has also been a member of  IAPMA.

She has participated in 7 solo and 55 group exhibitions, and she has realized five murals. In 2024 she received AMERICAN AWARDS 2024 , CATEGORY 5, PASTEL-FIGURE, PARIS&BEAUTY;HONORABLE

In the "Beauty" series, the focus is on the man and his emotional fantasies. Asking the question, when one is limited from the physical reach of the object of one's desires due to legal measures and restrictions during a pandemic, one's emotional desires are transposed /transformed/ into fantasy. Through his imagination and new technologies using social media, their emotional wants and needs are transformed into the metaverse and virtual space. So physical touch takes on your digital identity.

IN HIS MIND,series BEAUTY “IN HIS MIND,series BEAUTY”

In this piece of work called “In his mind” is presented the image of the nowadays Paris. He is borrowed from the Greek mythology and is placed in a new conceptual environment at the time of compulsory isolation as a consequence of initiation of state of emergency as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Here Paris is depicted with a mask of lingerie covering the nose and the mouth as a part of anti-epidemic measures imposed by the government because of the virus.
At the same time he juggles with three apples – one green, one red, one golden and a peach. Relevantly they symbolize the young, the mature and the most beautiful woman and the cutie as well. This is a symbolic reference to the erotic fantasies of the man at the time of the compulsory isolation and his setting in the online environment. The compelled isolation and distance between the people for a few months and their meetings solely in the virtual environment challenges the imagination and the cognitive relations for enjoyment through the social networks and by this forms in the consciousness of the man different intimate images with the opposite sex. Because of this fact on the background are depicted apple cores – some of them are being transformed into female torso as some of them are presented by couples, an expression of the secret fantasy of the man to be with two women at the same time. The symbolic presentation of the women as an apple cores is an expression of the cognition of the man only as an option, like a temporarily virtual amusement without engagements. For him they are only pale shadows without value.
The emoticons at the lower register of the piece are symbolic reference to the communications in an online environment at the time of compulsory isolation. The physical distance imposed by the epidemiological measures and the setting the communications of the individuals in online space and the expression of their emotions by emoticons puts the table for discussion to what extent the virtual reality is influencing the human psyche and the emotions of the individual?

PAIN 3 “PAIN 3”

Pain 3 presents that instant when the masculine and feminine principles associatively refer to Yin and Yang. Just as Yin is the light, the feminine side, and Yang is the dark, the masculine side, here the masculine and feminine principles are both equally represented in black and white. At each of the centres, reciprocally exists a part of the other, and thus they symbolically complement each other, i.e., there is white in the black and vice versa. It is a mark of interdependence, of a trace of light within the dark and of darkness within the light. They are two poles drawn to each other like magnets, yet at the same time separated by a metal barrier in the centre of which love is smouldering.

Two principles are intertwined in the Universe -- Yin and Yang. They symbolise the darkness and the light, the male and the female principles, the good and the evil, the positive and the negative, the passive and the active. They are equivalent and only the interaction of the two energies creates the harmony of life. Every object, situation or element tries to find the right balance. The balance of Yin and Yang is a promise for prosperity and happiness, and any excess or shortage of either has a negative impact on the energy of life. They are an expression of duality and of universal mutual complementarity. Yin always contains the potential of Yang and vice versa. The interconnection between them creates the essence of life around us. One force cannot exist without the other, just as the day will lose its meaning without the night. Yin and Yang represent two opposites that are never completely opposed. Yin and Yang are expressions of the cosmic dualistic system. Yin symbolises femininity, passivity, earth, and Yang masculinity, activiness, heaven. Half of Yin laps the dark part and half of Yang - the light part. This polarity gives birth to the five elements - metal, water, wood, fire, earth, and their interaction creates the diversity of the world. As a sign of bilateral dependence, the Yang part has a dark centre and the Yin part has a light centre. This indicates that it is rather an expression of the desire to complement each other than a matter of collision between light and darkness in the effort of the one principal to prevail over the other.
