Mario Romoda was born in Vukovar on April 15, 1987. During his childhood on the island of Krk, he noticed for the first time a great intuitive interest in art, which drives him even today.

In order to explore his interest in art, he enrolled in the School of Applied Art and Design in Osijek, where he received distinguished awards at national drawing competitions, and in 2004 he won the generation award as the best third-year student in Croatia. After finishing high school in 2006, he enrolled in the painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He finishes his third year of study under the mentorship of prof. Duje Jurić and receives the award for the best student of ALU. He enrolled in the graduate study of painting under the mentorship of prof. Zoltan Novak, where through experiments and studies on a styrofoam base, he finds his native medium through which he carries out his commentary, review, and sometimes his fascination with certain elements of capitalist and sensationalist society.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. Throughout his career as an independent artist, he has held 11 solo exhibitions in Croatia and numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad, of which the Cre-art residencies in Lithuania and Macedonia stand out.

Through his creation, Mario Romoda tries not to limit himself to one style and direction, but continuously questions and processes the topic that is always in the focus of his interest, constantly finding new angles and approaches to a recurring and current topic
