My work has been accepted to numerous juried shows,
including national and regional competitions. I  won many awards, including Best IN SHOW, FIRST
PLACE, SECOND PLACE, THIRD PLACE, Honorable Mention and EMERGING ARTIST
AWARDS.  My paintings have been accepted
and shown in the Coral Spring Museum, and in Art Miami 2023. I recently won a
place in the Circle Quarterly Art Review Magazine, January 2024. My paintings
have hung in several Maryland Galleries and I had a 3 month solo show in the
Black Box Gallery in Delray Beach, Florida.  I am a Signature Member of Florida Watercolor
Society, Gold Coast Watercolor Society, and Palm Beach Watercolor Society.  

I began painting as a teen and continued painting until I went to Law School.  I retired to South Florida in 2002 and
floundered around trying to find a rewarding way to fill my time. My husband
then gave me the gift of watercolor and drawing classes at the Boca Museum
School and that was the answer for me.  I
began painting at the kitchen counter but as my skills grew so did the space I
needed.  I now have taken over an entire
bedroom minus the bed and closet!

I have taken my mostly self -taught skills to a new level by taking
classes and workshops. Susan Hanssen, AWS, NWS, FWS, took me under her wing in 2005
up until COVID. I took additional classes with Sally Cooper, Diane Nance, Jane
McIntyre, and Anita Lovitt. I have taken workshops with Jeannie McGuire, Mel
Stabin, Stu Kurth, Skip Lawrence, Jean Pederson and Diane Nance.

I love working in watercolors, as I find them magical. However, being an
intuitive painter, I enjoy the freedom that acrylics allow.  I enjoy being able to paint in multiple
layers until I get the results I’m actually looking for.  

As a figure
painter, when looking for the subjects of my paintings, I often feel as though
I’m on Safari.  My goal is to capture the
expression or body language that my subject would not ordinarily show to the
camera. When I succeed at reproducing that feeling on the canvas, it allows my
viewer to get a peak into the soul of my subject.
